For me Pokemon lived through version 1, 2 and 3.
4 and 5 was rushed and they ran out of ideas. (i still got respect for the generation, but i just don't like them, sadly :( )

Cliche? Not at all, this is just my own opinion. I still got the respect for the generations, i just don't like the way that they made the pokemons. The design does not look like the simple and loving design that the three first generations had. instead it looks like someone went to far with the designs.

Look at your own examples. The normal pokemon from
generation 5 looks like a remodelled version of "Stantler"
from the 2nd generation.

Well, but my opinion is that it's a cliche, because people always says "the original is the best" but I don't mind about that, I see all the generations with the same eyes, and there are some pokemons in all gens that I love, and anothers that I don't like very much, and I think the designs are totally awesome.

About the Deerling-Sawsbuck/Stantler example, Stantler is based on a reindeer, Deerling and Sawsbuck are based on a deer, it's like say "that dog has copied that other dog" in the real world... most of the pokemons are based on real animals, and there are some real animals that have the same aspect than others.

PS: I don't want to be rude or anything.

Well it's good to hear that some people argue without being rude, and don't worry about the grammar mistakes, we all make them. :)
By the way, are we discussing the pokemon games, anime or the pokemon themself. When we mean which is better or not? :D
